Form of workThe Midland Station Cale Street Project is being delivered by The Midland Junction Alliance (MJA), comprising of Public Transport Authority of Western Australia, McConnell Dowell, Georgiou Group, BG&E and Arcadis. With McConnell Dowell as the principal contractor, the Midland Station is a design and construct project, which will be built in multiple complex stages to facilitate delivery and include the commissioning and interconnection of existing freight and passenger rail line networks and Final Asset Acceptance (FAA) of the works.
About the Role
This role will see you coordinating and administering construction engineering activities to ensure that the project is implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications. Day to day, you will be assisting with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports, monitoring construction progress for adherence to programs, as well as interpreting and improving designs for implementation in the construction of your discipline within the project.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide engineering expertise to facilitate the rail construction process
- Actively develop work packages in support of project construction activities, such as defining scope of works, materials, and resource requirements
- Support and assist the construction team in the execution of the project on time and to budget
- Ensure design deliverables are clearly defined in support of construction and project deliverables
- Maintain positive relationships with client representatives
- Promotion of the Alliance Charter including Our Values, Vision, Mission, and Key Result Areas, whilst understanding the individual contribution to its delivery
- Compliance with the safety and environmental responsibilities specific to the Alliance Management Plan and promote the highest health and safety standards
- Adherence to MJA’s management system which is based on the McConnell Dowell Management System
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Proven experience working in the relevant rail industry of at least 5 years – rail delivery is highly regarded
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering
- Experience within the Construction/Engineering sectors
- Competent in planning & organising work schedules and delivering to timelines
- Strong and Clear communication skills, written and verbal
