Project Engineer - Brookvale
Responsibility
- Responsible for the development and management of multiple project plans that will run concurrently.
- Execute project plans deploying sound PM methodology for resource and cost management within agreed budgets and timeframes.
- Responsible for the coordination of project teams e.g. setting up of appropriate communication channels and protocols recording actions and assigning responsibilities as required
- Assume responsibility for those parts of the project that are within capability and time availability.
- This position will be responsible for delivering projects to agreed specification, on time and on budget. The key challenge facing the role will be to execute plans whilst working within a "live" production environment.
- The position should contribute to the development of a robust cross functional project management discipline within HMC.
- This position has responsibility for making decisions that impact the resource allocation in consultation with key stakeholders.
- The position should raise to the manager any critical tasks that place the project delivery at risk, through time or cost.
- This position can recommend inclusion of changes to costings or use of external resources to improve outcomes or reduce risk.
Qualifications
- Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Degree
- Knowledge of project management theory and practice
- Ability to independently prepare reports and correspondence for a range of audiences e.g., project teams, CEO, HMC Board, third parties.
- Advanced knowledge of business software e.g., Office 365
- Ability to develop and manage project plans using appropriate software tools e.g., MS Project.
- Ability to prepare and review financial analysis of projects.
- Presentation skills
- Ability to manage team dynamics in cross functional projects.
- Demonstration in past experience in a manufacturing/process industry would be well regarded.
- Candidate's exposure to a variety of process equipment and their understanding of that equipment's operation
- A manufacturing background would be useful assisting in the practical nature of providing a good project solution through better understanding of the operators' challenges
