ABOUT SO4

SO4 are driving toward the production of world class Sulphate of Potash (SOP). Our Lake Way asset is in the Goldfields region of Western Australia, 15 kilometres south of Wiluna. We are entering an exciting new phase in our progress, as we will be into our production ramp-up in a few days. 

SO4 is a fast-growing Perth based company, developing its clean, green Lake Way SOP Project, enabling sustainable food production.

THE ROLE

As the Project Engineer you will manage engineering projects related to planning, construction and rectification works of upstream component of the project (Ponds, Trenches, Brine Transfer System and Borefield). Your earth moving experience, either in a mining or civil environment will be key.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

• Leading the Projects team to provide a consistent and constructive workplace culture.
• Proactively manage process issues, lead problem-solving and root cause analysis activities, and identify the causes of the issues and the most appropriate solutions.
• Actively promote and demonstrate a personal commitment to safety and wellbeing.
• Ensure all Project activities are performed to a high standard in line with the companies policies and procedures.
• Ensure our environment, ground disturbance, heritage, our traditional owners are respected and protected, including the development and implementation of GDP’s.
• Manage contractors on the SO4 tenements to ensure work is completed in line with SO4 Health, Safety, Environment and Community Policies; site logistics and access is managed efficiently.
• Ensure all contractors are appropriately trained and competent prior to undertaking assigned tasks and works on site.
• Coordination and implementation of design, construction and modification works, including pond walls, baffles, culverts, capture trenches, to ensure effective operation of the pond network.
• Investigation, design, planning of trench rectification works to ensure effective and efficient brine production.
• Planning and coordination of design and construction of Brine Transfer System (BTS) extensions, to ensure effective transfer of brine from the borefield to the pond system.
• Operation of the BTS to deliver brine from bores to discharge points.
• Coordinate design of on lake road network around ponds and trench network and oversee the construction to confirm built to design.
• Planning, coordination, and installation of design for borefield, including solar installations, floodproofing, optimisation of pumping infrastructure.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking a candidate with a significant experience in project delivery, demonstrated supervision experience including improvements and performance management. You will have a minimum 5 years civil earthworks project management experience with a broad range of mining experience.

You will have motivating leadership qualities and be a hands-on leader. To be successful in the role, you will have:

• In-depth understanding of the mining industry legislation.
• Experience in project management including scope, budget, schedules, and delivery.
• Completion of Certificate IV Frontline Management.
• Completion of minimum requirements to satisfy Section 26 statutory requirements. This includes attainment of Level 4 risk management competencies and meeting the requirements of the DMIRS mining law examination applicable to the position.
• Demonstrated experience in cost management.
• Tertiary qualification in related field or extensive experience in project management and execution.
• Current “C” Class Western Australian driver’s license.
• Experience using Pronto including raising purchase and work orders.
• Working knowledge using Aconex. 
• Advanced user of INX.
• Management of personnel through HRIS system.
