About The Role
Aeris Resources are investing significantly in exploration to unlock further value at the Tritton Copper Operation following the discovery of the Constellation deposit.
We are currently looking for a Project Geologist / Resource Development Geologist to support the exploration projects at Tritton, you will be working on an 8/6 roster and get the benefit of being supported by an experienced managerial & executive team, while growing your career on an exciting project in a booming commodity.
You will work closely with various departments including mine operations and technical services, as well as external stakeholders.
You will be responsible for safe and efficient logging of drill sample, importation of data into the Aeris geological database, and delivery of geological models, under the guidance of the Resource Development Senior Geologist.
You will play a key role, in taking a project from the greenfield exploration geology department, and developing / improving the geological understanding, such that it can be handed over to the mine geology or projects technical team, with sufficient understanding that it can progress into development.
Additionally, you will be responsible for the following
- Execute drilling programmes – your will be intimately involved in the geological data collection (logging core, plus other means) and timely integration into the Aeris geological database. You will provide feedback to the Resource Development Senior Geologist for recommended addition drill targets.
- Deliver Geological products – be responsible for geological data collection and be involved in the delivery of geological models.
- Quality Control – ensure the highest quality data is being collected in line with Industry best practice, and Aeris policies and procedures.
- Teamwork – operate collaboratively with the broader Aeris geological team, notably the Resource Development, Greenfields Exploration and Exploration Technician teams, to foster a positive work culture, and deliver best practice geological outputs.
- Risk Management – identify and mitigate risks associated with Resource Development activities, including geological uncertainty and technical challenges.
- Stakeholder Engagement - engage with internal and external stakeholders to foster positive relationships.
- Continuous Improvement - drive continuous improvement initiative to improve the efficiency and productivity of the team.
About You
You will bring a love of geology, a will to make a difference, and an element of fun to join in our team. In addition, you will bring:
- Solid hard rock geological experience (3+ years)
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology.
- Technical expertise in mineral identification, structural geology, and mineral systems; to inform geological data collection and interpretation.
- Sound people management skills.
- Good communication skills including interpersonal, negotiation, influencing, verbal and written.
- Enthusiasm, commitment and self-direction.
The Operation You’ll Support
Aeris’ Tritton Copper Operations is located near the towns of Nyngan and Cobar in Central New South Wales. Our operation’s underground mining complex feeds 1.8 million tonne per annum through our processing plant and our highly prospective tenements package covers about 2,330km2 of the Girilambone basin. We’re a major, regional employer in the local district supporting the community and investing in education and career pathways for local residents.
