CB&I is looking for an experienced and passionate HSE Advisor to support our West Coast Projects. 

The Role:

Commencing immediately, this exciting opportunity seeks a versatile and motivated HSE Professional. The successful candidate will support local projects in the Kwinana area, with opportunities to assist with future Australian Projects. 

The right person for this role work will work 38 hours per week plus RDO accrual and will be willing to work additional paid project hours when required. 

Reporting to the National HSE Manager, this is a dynamic role providing a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. Your responsibilities will involve taking the lead in the development, implementation, and coaching of HSE Management Systems and ensuring a firm commitment to continual improvement. 

The Responsibilities:

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a strong and supportive HSE team, the right candidate will have the opportunity to grow with the business. 

  • Providing advice, training, consultation, monitoring, and governance for compliance to the Project Management team and field workers in accordance with project and legislative HSE requirements.
  • Support leaders and team members with coaching and mentoring to achieve confidence and competence, in safety compliance assurance activities, and managing risks.
  • Assist in the overall preparation of Project HSE Management Systems as part of the Project pre-mobilisation, mobilisation, and execution phases 
  • Provide support in project HSE planning, awareness and training programs, and technical reporting. 
  • Complete investigations, reports, inspections, audits and prepare site statistical data in consultation with Project Teams.
  • Assist in the preparation of various Management Plans and Risk Assessments (HAZID/CRAW, SWMS)
  • Support the onboarding of employees and subcontractors through monitoring of online induction content and review of employee licenses and certificates 
  • Collate appropriate data for weekly and monthly reporting, both internal and client based 
  • Support the National HSE Manager in the ongoing annual recertification to ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and Federal Safety Commission Accreditation Scheme requirements.

About You:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience on Construction projects essential, in a heavy industrial scope favorable.
  • Prior experience working in Hazardous Facilities and/or Greenfield Construction Projects favorable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as a confident presenter 
  • Strong collaborative abilities, facilitating effective interaction with clients, colleagues, field workers, and management.
  • Australian full work rights with no restrictions.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Qualifications (Diploma and above). 
  • Cert IV Training and Assessment (not essential)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of WHS and relevant statutory regulations
  • Formal training in incident investigation and reporting (Taproot preferable)
  • Current full C class Driver’s license
