We have partnered with one of Australia’s leading specialist service providers to the Energy & infrastructure sectors to source an experienced HSE Manager on a long-term project with a global energy operator.
About this role
The Project HSE Manager reports directly to the Project Manager and acts as a service to the wider project team, supported by the Group HSE Manager. The principal objective of the HSE Manager is initially to develop and maintain the Project HSE Management Plan whilst leading and managing the project HSE team in the implementation of the SMS System, work schedules for areas of responsibility, assigning, and communicating priorities.

This position will commence in the Corporate Centre before transitioning to the Project location in Western Queensland on family friendly rotation.
Key Capabilities for the HSE Manager include though are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain Project specific HSE management plans in consultation with all stakeholders and are communicated appropriately
- Implement a certified HSE Management system, in line with corporate standards and procedures that reflects best practice and that is aligned with all relevant legislation, contract and certification requirements
- Advise, coach and mentor project staff (including subcontractors) on Risk Management and HSE Continuous Improvement.
- Monitor and manage compliance with the organisation and Client HSE policies, procedures, directives, and standards
- Facilitate the Project HAZID and develop the Project Risk Register, identifying hazards associated with the scope of works ensuring that appropriate controls are implemented to reduce the risk to as low as reasonably practicable
- Participate in expternal and internalt ausits, Monitor project HSE Performance against corporate and project KPI’s, communicating the outcome and implementing improvement plans as required.
- Incident and Injury Management in accordance with corporate and client requirements.
- Support the implementation of the Behavioural Safety Program on the project along with developing and implementing strategies to continually improving the safety culture and performance of the project to achieve an incident free workplace
About you
To be successful in this position you will have a minimum Diploma qualification in OHS / WHS and be experienced working in a project based HSE Managers position.
You will have an inclusive management style with an unwavering commitment to the principals of behavioural safety to lead and mentor the project HSE and operational teams to a safety first culture and achieve an incident free workplace.
Well developed interpersonal skills will ensure you a smooth transition into this position to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders including corporate and field along with client representatives.
This position will commence in Brisbane Corporate centre for pre-mobilisation activities and will then transition to a family friendly BIBO/FIFO rotation to site locations in Western Queensland.
