About the Role:

As Project Lead Engineer, your role will entail overseeing and implementing projects related to server infrastructure, networking, cyber security and ensuring effective communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle. 

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Take on projects that are pre-scoped and see them through to completion.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Work within timelines, resource allocation and budget estimates.
  • Identify potential risks and devise strategies to mitigate.
  • Select appropriate hardware, software and networking components when required.
  • Be involved in the configuration, installation and testing of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Create thorough documentation during projects to assist Support Team after handover.
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with the support desk to ensure a seamless internal handover upon project completion. 
  • Provide clear and informative external handover and user training where required.
  • Identify potential project opportunities across our existing client base.
  • Opportunity to undertake internal improvement projects. 
  • Play a critical role in analysing project requirements, developing strategic plans, and executing project deliverables within established timelines and budgets.
  • Facilitating a friendly workplace where ideas are heard, and knowledge is shared.

Required experience and skills

  • Proven experience in managing the end-to-end delivery of concurrent complex IT projects, including planning, scheduling, and resource management
  • Proven experience migrating business systems to the Microsoft 365/Azure ecosystem
  • Previous experience in an MSP project delivery role is essential (min. 2 years)
  • Microsoft 365 ecosystem (setup of new tenants, migration projects, etc)
  • Microsoft Azure infrastructure (design and deployment)
  • Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Autopilot (design and deployment)
  • Windows Server (design and deployment)
  • High-level understanding of Networking Technologies (DHCP/DNS/LAN/VLAN/WLAN/WAN)
  • Experience/interest in Phone system technologies including 3CX, SIP and VOIP
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Ability to communicate technical and non-technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to build team culture focused on a successful delivery
