The Opportunity
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our global biomedical client. The role is to assist the Senior Project Manager to deliver the Bulk Process scope of the capacity expansion project for their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
The Role
- Oversee and manage sub-teams within large projects (team typically less than 5 people).
- Develop and manage budget plans and control schedules.
- Support in project changes, additional scope to original project
- Parallel timeline to originally project scope
- $500k to $2m worth of capital this person would be looking after (Tier 2 project category)
- Working with various functions – technical process engineering team to assist with design’
- Working with automation group and external vendors for supply of equipment
- Working with 5-6 key people
- No direct reports but will have dotted line into them from some different functions
- First change on the PD is the earlier priority – change to how product is formulated needs to be implemented this calendar year.
- Will also pick up another change – pressure transfer method (longer timeline for implementation – early next year).
- 10% of role will be some smaller changes (eg swapping some equipment out where an improvement has been identified)
Must have:
- 5yrs Experience in projects, pharmaceuticals in particular
- Involvement in design and delivery / implementation of Capital projects and commissioning and qualification would be ideal
Nice to have:
- Bulk processing experience
- Dealing with systems that are direct product contact
- Operating experience – process or maintenance engineer experience
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have the following skills & experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably in the mechanical discipline) from a recognised tertiary educational institution
- 5yrs Experience in projects, pharmaceuticals in particular
- Experience in commissioning and qualification
- Must have experience on a construction site
- Experience in change control
- Seeking someone who is hands on
- Ability to work independently
- Able to troubleshoot and solve problems
- Regulated industry experience advantageous
- Strong stakeholder management skills
