Job Description
YOUR ROLE
The Projects and IT Business Management team of experienced project and commercial professionals enables the delivery of business-driven technology-based initiatives through a consistent well defined project delivery framework and supports the CTTO through well managed, structured approaches to IT business management including budgeting, financials, and commercial management for a team size of approximately 100 staff and a financial investment in excess of $50M per annum.
The Project Manager and Capability Lead is responsible for the delivery of projects and providing leadership and direction to a team responsible for the delivery of business projects with technology solutions and products delivered on behalf of the business from inception through to hybrid delivery approaches and transition to production, with a strong focus on stakeholder and risk management and achieving the optimal balance between scope delivered, cost incurred, timeframe achieved and risks taken, to a level consistent with leading industry standards.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Define and build project management capabilities to meet current and future needs taking into account hybrid delivery approaches and delivery with high-quality outcomes for stakeholders
- Implement strategies, continuous improvement programs and performance targets for the team with supporting measurement, monitoring, and reporting mechanisms
- Define complex project scope and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with project sponsors and or business units
- Work with solution designers and architects to develop and finalise the solution design, including seeking approval of the solution design
- Coordinate with all relevant delivery teams to develop estimates on costs and timeframes for the delivery of the agreed solutions
ABOUT YOU
- Significant management experience with ability to lead and develop high performing teams at various levels of technical and business skills, with the ability to drive a shared vision to achieve objectives whilst gaining commitment from staff, molding effective work teams and encouraging staff to take responsibility while supporting their career aspirations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships with diverse stakeholder groups on highly complex issues.
- Demonstrated strong experience in managing and leading business driven technology projects consisting of multiple streams.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills to communicate firmly and tactfully in complex situations with senior stakeholders. Strong written communication skills to develop easy to read and persuasive project documents and briefs for senior management on complex issues, providing expert analysis and clear recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience in applying tactical commercial knowledge and experience in decision-making and negotiations to produce efficiencies in the broader business unit or organisational environment.
