Role purpose
The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the delivery of an ongoing capital investment program (circa $1Bn p.a.). The High Value-High Risk (HVHR) Team delivers projects categorised as HVHR by the Department of Treasury and Finance. These projects typically exceed $150m in value and are highly complex.This role will support the Executive Project Director and liaise with Western Health in the programming of the decommissioning and demolition of the existing Footscray Hospital Campus.
The Principal Project Manager will liaise with the Director, Design and Technical for the New Footscray Hospital to ensure all program delivery objectives are coordinated.
The primary purpose of the Principal Project Manager is to superintendent and project manage demolition contracts. The role requires someone to confidently represent the Department with the administration of standard contracts and negotiate with contractors to resolve complex issues through a process of consultation. It also requires the ability to consult and collaborate with key stakeholders such as Western Health who is the health provider for the project. Design and construct contract knowledge, experience and expertise will be required along with the requisite programming, financial management and reporting skills of a Project Manager.
