Our client, a household Australian brand name, is undertaking a critical Business Continuity upgrade and needs a strong Project Manager to deliver this complex piece of work
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, driving and directing all aspects of the project including change management. The PM will need strong experience in providing project management and change management services, to deliver required business outcomes as well capability to run integrated parallel business and IT activity streams. The role will own the full life cycle for the project, sub-projects and change.
The PM will be responsible for planning, managing costs, benefits, projects budgets and providing assurance over the quality and efficiency of the project within the broader portfolio of change, maintaining a strong focus on ensuring no disruption to existing 'business as usual' operational activities and successful transition to future 'business as usual' process. They will also be responsible for minimising the negative effects and maximising the benefits of organisational change. They will work with the implementation team to focus on affected stakeholders - identifying the impact on them, getting them ready for the changes and handling any resistance to change.
Responsibility
- Managing internal and service partner Project Managers and delivery resources to achieve business aligned project outcomes.
- Managing both IT and Business Project readiness activities.
- Managing the change from the existing Business Continuity tool (BC3) to the new Business Continuity tool (BCIC).
- Monitor and manage the critical path, contingencies, scope changes and budget, both labour and non-labour resources.
- Overall accountability for ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of new and enhanced business capabilities that meet or exceed expectations.
- Ensure resource adhere to the established Project Methodology and standards, while carrying out their responsibilities.
- Applying appropriate project management and systems development lifecycle processes to complex information technology projects.
- Conducting risk assessments related to the change.
- Developing change management plans for projects and/or change initiatives.
- Evaluating the impact of planned organisational change.
- Identifying risks and developing risk mitigation strategies.
- Identifying and managing anticipated resistance to change.
- Ensures that the projects are aligned with IT standards and strategies.
Attributes
- 5+ years in Project Management, Project Delivery and Change Management
- Strong negotiation and conflict skills
- Strong commercial and business acumen
- Good understanding of change management principles, techniques and tools
- Expert stakeholder management skills across both business and technical functions
- Preferred: Experience with Business Continuity Platform and tooling
