Your New Employer is a leader in engineering projects from design through to delivery. Focussed on the logistics industry and the installation of technology driven automated warehousing systems on a project basis. This new role has been created due to promotion of the incumbent and is integral in the management of the financial accounting of the business together with accounting for large projects.
In your new role you will be involved in both hands-on and leadership of the financial and administration functions in the Australian entity across the several divisions. Your responsibilities will cover Month End, Compliance, and general accounting as well as Project Accounting. You will complete tax compliance returns and reconcile requirements for reporting and auditing. You will close the accounting book at month end and complete monthly financial reports, and be responsible for journals, ledger, balance sheet and cash flow forecasting. You will oversee registers for assets, licences, insurance, and vehicles. Importantly, you will also support Project Managers with Project Accounting of their project delivery and contractual obligations. Due to both the local and international transactions, treasury experience such as Forex and Hedging is required. You will have several reports to manage and mentor such as AR, AP.
You will be a tertiary educated Accountant with CPA/CA accreditation and have a high attention to detail. You will be a strong communicator with excellent language competencies both written and verbal. You will also need to have experience in working in an international subsidiary with reporting requirements to Head Office overseas. Some supervisory experience in managing a small team running the day-to-day activities is expected. You will have a good working capability with project-based accounting and a resolve to promote continuous improvement. You will also be strong with analysis and Excel.
