Granny Flat Solutions & New South Homes are a multi-award-winning family-owned construction company based in Sydney's North. With 40 years experience and a strong pipeline of projects for 2024, we are looking for a Project Manager to manage our Northern Beaches projects and ensuring we continue to deliver high quality projects. The majority of projects initially will be Granny Flats.
You’ll be working with a team who understand the important of good construction and work with you to create stunning granny flats and new homes, no two days are the same and you’ll be supported in your journey with us to grow and learn on the job. The Position:
This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Construction Manager and will involve managing multiple construction projects on the Northern Beaches. Ideally the successful candidate will be based in the area to assist with the high volume of jobs there.
Key Responsibilities will be:
- Lead the planning and construction of Granny Flats and/or other dwellings
- Interpret construction plans and schedule timelines in logical steps
- Identify resources and materials required and plan to implement accordingly
- Develop a strong relation with a network of trades/suppliers and build on that network
- Routinely visit sites and provide instructions to trades and updates to clients
- Coordinate, provide direction, lead and support all subcontractors, tradespeople & suppliers
- Make regular inspections of building works at various stages of completion
- Make safety inspections and ensuring both construction and site safety
- Manage projects to be completed on time and within costs budgets
- Communicate and record all cost variations with customers and subcontractors
- Identify techniques for safety and quality control for each project;
- Ensure the site is kept clean, tidy and safe at all times
The applicant should possess the following:
- Excellence in building and construction knowledge
- Strong scheduling skills and the ability to work autonomously
- Strong customer focus
- 2+ years’ work experience as a Project Manager or site manager
- Able to handle multiple projects at the same time
- 5+ years working on site with tradesmen
- Solid computer and iPad skills
