Project Manager
About the role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Manager will lead and manage assigned projects utilising ‘Project Management Body of Knowledge’ methodology. The role is accountable for all facets of the project lifecycle, ensuring each stage is managed diligently and effectively. Strong leadership, along with high-level consultation and communication, will be key in identifying constraints, pinch-points and risk that has the potential to impact on the successful delivery of the project to our clients.
Key objectives & responsibilities include:
- Manage Project – Risk, Schedule, Procurement, Budget, Resourcing, Communications and Stakeholders
- Ensure accurate task information is documented to ensure detailed and accurate charges are billed accordingly against projects
- Work closely with the planning department and scheduler to ensure that project schedules are accurately compiled, updated, and delivered
- Manage budgets and ensure financial targets met or exceeded
- Identify and appropriately manage any technical, safety or project personnel issues and risk
- Procure project labour IAW the project resourcing requirements both internally and externally
- Develop key relationships with stakeholders and suppliers and maintain communications
- Provide clear direction to project teams to ensure daily, weekly, and critical tasks are executed by the required deadlines to quality standards
- Provide project specific advice to ensure future projects costings and timelines are quoted accurately
- Compile, submit, negotiate, and execute any project variations
- Facilitate and lead project meetings and toolbox meetings
Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:
- Possess a relevant Tertiary or Trade Qualification
- Hold a Project Management Qualification and Project Management experience (ideally within the Maritime or Defence industries), with a working knowledge of Service Contracts and Service Agreements
- Exposure to the Commercial and Marine Service Industries, as well as a sound knowledge of asset management standards, systems and processes, will be highly regarded
- Be commercially astute, with significant exposure to project budgets, commercials, and cost controls
- Be goals driven and results orientated, with an excellent attention to detail and the ability to explain and discuss technical, commercial, and contractual topics
- Hold a Construction safety induction (white card)
