Sydney Water have partnered with Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) to deliver; design, construct, maintenance and facilities management services as part of the P4S program in Sydney Water's Southern Region of Sydney. 

D4C is a consortium comprising of John Holland, Service Stream and WSP. We will provide long term employment opportunities to diversify the skills of the people of the southern region of Sydney as well as creating pathways to enter the water industry. 

D4C is seeking a Project Manager - Minor Works to join their expanding team to deliver excellence in water projects across the Southern Region. 

What this role will entail?   

Provide onsite project managment services, technical support, project management documentation and onsite construction support to ensure successful delivery of high-volume smaller projects including meeting time, quality, and budget objectives. Typically, these projects will be of low complexity, low risk and nil or minimal design and can located across the South Region.

As a Project Manager working alongside Sydney Water Property Group team delivering facilities type capex projects. This could consist of fire systems, lighting, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, civil etc. You'll be leading a program of works. Your day-to-day tasks will include but are not limited to: 

  • End to end delivery of multiple projects each at different stages at any one time.
  • Stakeholder management
  • Conduct and administer overall job planning, costing, and programming including short range and intermediate activities for facilities type projects for approval by the Minor works Team Lead and/or Regional Maintenance and Facilities Management Team Lead.
  • Input information and undertake minor design on site and monitor and recommend changes to design details to increase the ease of construction.
  • Demonstrate financial management skills including demonstrated behaviour in preparing costs, reducing costs, forecasting and meeting budgets.
  • Demonstrate people management skills by being able to manage work and performance of teams and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes. 
  • Maintains daily records of project performance. 
  • Perform all duties in accordance with D4C policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures. 
  • Personal awareness and understanding of the D4C and Sydney Water HSEQ requirements supporting the mission of Delivering Differently.
  • Implements and monitors controls for cost recoveries from subcontractors/suppliers including the capture of diary records of actual and potential subcontractor/supplier variations and disputes.

 Essential Requirements: 

  • Tertiary qualification - Diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering, Science, Building Construction, Construction Management or equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years' project management experience
  • Construction management and specific technical skills base relevant to program of work and discipline area
  • Wide level of planning, development and review of projects
  • White card
  • Current Drivers Licence
