Job description

  • Contract length: 12 or 18 months contract + 12 months extensions available.
  • Location: Canberra, ACT
  • Candidate must be Australian Citizen and have TSPV or NV2 security clearance minimum.

Project Manager [SFIA Skill Level 5]

The Project Manager will be a highly organised, dynamic, outcome orientated individual with excellent communication skills who is confident to break down large projects into discrete work packages from concept to delivery, for a diverse range of customers. The Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning and implementation of projects, including defining the scope and requirements, developing plans and schedules, managing the project's budget, overseeing and planning resource allocation and work packages, managing risks and issues and communicating formally and informally on the project's progress. Client is seeking Project Managers who can think critically and use their excellent problem solving skills, as well as undertake negotiations, delegate effectively, and make timely decisions.


Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for leading and managing activities for planning, development and implementation of projects and systems to meet organisational requirements.
  • Advise and ensure improvement and enhancement of organisational project methodologies.
  • Lead and manage capability lifecycles of systems development or enhancement.
  • Plan, initiate and manage procurements to support program and organisational requirements.
  • Lead and manage large stakeholder groups focused on business outcomes.
  • Lead and manage project review and reporting mechanisms.
  • Lead and manage project financial management, change control and quality reporting.
  • Coordinate project resourcing according to project priorities.
  • Identify and manage project risk and issue management and reporting.
  • Provide leadership and advice to junior Project Managers and Project Support Officers and project teams.
  • Escalate issues and seek advice from executive management in a timely manner.
  • Plan organisational resourcing to meet business requirements.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement process by developing and enhancing procedures.

Essential Requirement

  • Procurement experience (preferably in a Defence context).
  • Holds acquisition and sustainment Project Management competencies.

Project Support Officers [SFIA Skill Level 3]

The Project Support Officer (PSO) will play an active role in managing packages of work, schedule dependencies, project documentation, procurement, and providing administrative support. The PSO will play an important role in project planning, risk, and issue management, helping to drive projects forward to achieve outcomes for a diverse range of customers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with project planning, delivery, and work package management.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of key project artefacts, including the project schedule.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of appropriate information management and record keeping practices.
  • Assist with capturing and coordinating project tasks and actions.
  • Assist with risk, issue, and dependency management.
  • Procure ICT-related goods and services.
  • Work collaboratively and constructively as part of an Agile delivery team to ensure the timely delivery of a quality ICT capability.
  • Work with fellow team members to improve team business processes and share knowledge.

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrated ICT Project Support competencies.
  • Experience procuring goods and services on behalf of the Australia government.

Business Analyst [SFIA Skill Level 5]

The Business Analyst will be responsible for customer engagement, process modelling and development of system requirements. They will also be responsible for engaging with the team to ensure customer requirements are well understood and expectations on both sides are appropriately managed. This position is responsible for the elicitation of business and technical requirements and the modelling of new and existing business processes to inform technical capability delivery for a fast-paced, dynamic business unit. The successful candidate will contribute to the support of one of client's program capabilities. This will involve working with business stakeholders, project managers, systems architects and delivery teams as required to elicit and communicate requirements for successful outcomes. Prioritisation, stakeholder engagement and exceptional communication are all key requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage stakeholder engagement meetings involving customers that have unique and often conflicting requirements and priorities.
  • Gather, document, communicate and manage business and technical requirements.
  • Model moderately complex business processes.
  • Provide advice on moderately complex systems design within a Services Oriented Architecture.
  • Escalate issues and work with the team to prioritise feature delivery.
  • Work with the development teams to continually improve Agile processes.
  • Communicate customer and developer needs regarding system improvements, enhancements, and elimination of problems and inefficiencies and acceptance testing, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Assist in the development and management of a prioritised schedule of work.
  • Work with other Business Analysts and product owners to ensure applications are complimentary, fit for purpose and integrated wherever appropriate.
