About the Program
The AIR 5428 Pilot Training System (PTS) partners with the Australian Defence Force for development of its military pilot workforce at four operating bases, RAAF Base East Sale, RAAF Base Pearce, RAAF Base Edinburgh, and RAAF Base Williamtown. Implementing a tailored learning solution, Lockheed Martin leads the delivery of this approach for all Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Australian Navy and the Australian Army candidates; as well as supporting operations for other key Australian Defence Force aviation units.
This role is preferably based at East Sale, but can be accommodated from Melbourne with regular travel to East Sale.
About the opportunity
This role will provide effective leadership and management of subcontractor capability for the AIR 5428 program from inception through to completion for subcontracts of medium-high risk and complexity.
Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to match all phases of the program lifecycle in accordance with LMA processes and procedures
- Development of Supplier relationships in support of current and future AIR5428 supply chain requirements and coordinate with Lockheed Martin US on global supplier relationship matters
- Lead development, implementation and ongoing review of AIR5428 Subcontract Management Plan
- Work collaboratively with Contracts team to ensure Subcontractor performance and Program commercial arrangements are back to back / consistent
- Manage subcontracts associated with the AIR5428 program phases as they dynamically evolve
- Develop relationships with internal stakeholders for technical, programmatic and commercial requirements
- Overall AIR5428 subcontract cost and schedule responsibility
- Define RFP/SOW requirements and lead proposal evaluations for new AIR5428 subcontracts and S&Q activity
About you:
You are a seasoned Project Management professional with solid leadership skills, and extensive experience in the management of subcontracts and/or contracts.
Additionally, you will have:
- Significant experience in establishing strong supplier relationships and working in a collaborative customer and supplier environment
- Significant experience in negotiation and resolution of complex issues to achieve a positive, commercially focused outcome
- Solid experience in leading, managing and motivating teams
- A background in, or sound knowledge of, Defence capability development processes and Defence acquisition practices
- Working knowledge of AS4360 (Risk Management), ISO9001 (Quality Systems) and AS04817 (Earned Value Management)
- Demonstrated ability to deliver against requirements, schedules and budgets in a complex risk environment.
