As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be involved with and responsible for the design and delivery of key projects across various industries, including health, commercial office, education, sports and recreation, and defence and will be able to demonstrate proven engineering leadership
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the provision of mechanical services within Canberra and supporting the ACOR Group on a national basis.
- Production of project documentation to an end client standard including but not limited to drawings, reports, specifications, project advice notices and the like for small, medium and large projects.
- Manage / support mechanical projects or sub-projects to achieve mechanical deliverables.
- Support mechanical projects or sub-projects to assist Project Directors / Project Leaders.
- Applying professional judgement progressively to more difficult tasks.
- Undertaking professional development training, development and experience using a variety of standard engineering methods and procedures.
- Provide mentoring and training for junior staff.
- Managing drafting staff and BIM designers on a project basis.
- Assure that project milestones and deadlines are met. Tracking, time and budget to invoicing and cash flow are appropriately managed.
- Contribute to standards, templates and similar documents used to communicate mechanical requirements, deliverables and the like.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 6 years experience in Mechanical Engineering within a building services engineering consultancy.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- Registered Professional Engineer (Victoria).
- Member of Engineer’s Australia and Chartered Professional Engineer (or on path to achieving).
- A strong working knowledge with a range of design software packages including CAMEL and Bluebeam
- Experience in designing mechanical services in multiple sectors
- Thorough understanding of NCC (National Construction Code) and relevant Australian Standards.
- A good level of report writing and communication skills.
