An exciting opportunity has become available for a Mechanical Project Engineer to provide Project Engineering and technical support to the Capital Projects Group. Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, this role will see you managing and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure Snowy Hydro's assets meet the business's long-term reliability and availability requirements. The location involves frequent travel as it requires you to be present across many of Snowy Hydro's asset locations and offers the ability to work remotely from a range of locations.
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Ensure safety in design principles are incorporated at all stages of the design and construction process from initiation through to commissioning.
Ensuring the review of all design, studies and construction methodologies are performed by appropriate personnel and that the team's internal design framework is continually followed and improved.
Build robust and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders by providing effective and timely communication whilst always promoting the company values.
Develop engineering deliverables and time-based functions to facilitate planning and control of projects.
Develop design management plans and assist Project Management with inputs into a wide range of Project Management documentation.
Review and facilitate engineering documentation developed for the provision of equipment, materials and services to ensure it aligns with project requirements and company standards
Witness and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) as required.
Coordinate and participate in design reviews, Safety in Design studies and Construction Methodology reviews, and participate in project risk reviews.
In addition to the above, our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering satisfying the eligibility requirements for Corporate Membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
6-9 years experience working on small to medium projects in a multidisciplinary environment.
Experience in, and understanding of technologies related to power generation, transmission, and distribution.
An ability to present and provide information to others in a technical and Project Engineering capacity.
Strong communication and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
An ability to work autonomously and as part of a small multi-disciplinary team, at site and remotely.
An ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing circumstances/business demands in a measured and constructive way.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate messages accurately business-wide.
