Job description

  • ASIC is seeking a full-time Project Officer to join their Business Improvement & Innovation (BII) team
  • Permanent position based in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne 
  • Salary starting from $90,749 (plus 15.4% superannuation) depending on experience

The team

ASIC's Registry & Intelligence (R&I) group drives our intelligence-led regulatory approach, using data-informed insights and intelligence. The group assesses reports lodged with ASIC, manages information and data flow, and leads our international engagement. The group is made up of the following teams: Registry Operations, Misconduct and Breach Reporting, Strategic Planning and Intelligence, International, Information and Knowledge Resource Centre & Business Improvement & Innovation (BII).

This role sits within the Business Improvement & Innovation team and is responsible for maintaining consistency and standards across multiple workstreams, driving efficiency and innovation as well as developing staff capabilities including the greater use of data and data analysis.

The role

  • Assisting to deliver projects, analysing and documenting business requirements and processes, testing, communication and other business readiness activities.
  • Assisting team in tracking and monitoring the progression of projects.
  • Undertaking or co-ordinating change management activities.
  • Taking ownership and driving resolution of issues, leveraging internal resources as appropriate.
  • Researching and providing guidance on more complex process, policy, requirements and project products.
  • Facilitating workshops, interviews and other data collection methods, to prepare requirements that reflect and consider the needs of internal and external clients.
  • Liaising and negotiating with a range of internal and external stakeholders to understand business and client needs and deliver products to agreed standards.
  • Reviewing existing processes to identify and coordinate improvements.
  • Creating or amending guidance and procedure documents.
  • Implementing best practice initiatives, question processes and seek customer feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Participating in system or process improvement, quality or change initiatives.


About you

  • A relevant bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in business analysis, including the ability to model and document business processes and user requirements.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with a variety of audiences utilising written and verbal communication.
  • Prior experience in process improvement and projects.
  • Knowledge of one or more of process improvement methodology, Agile project methodology or Change methodology would be desirable.
