- Temporary full-time opportunity until 30 Jun 2025
- Located in Narooma/Merimbula South Coast.
About the role
The National Parks and Wildlife Service is offering a unique opportunity for a Project Officer to join our team. This role involves contributing to the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna, and Aboriginal heritage. Your responsibilities will include Preparing detailed project plans, managing stakeholder consultation, and ensuring projects are completed within required timeframes, at or below budgets, and meeting agreed quality standards.
The Project Officer role is a key part of our organisation's mission. You will provide diverse project management and related support services, including preparing reports and briefs, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation, and implementing and monitoring project plans. Your work will directly contribute to the achievement of our management and conservation goals, making it both challenging and rewarding.
About you
We are looking for a driven individual with a balance of technical and interpersonal skills and a passion for the community and environment. Your proficiency in project management, knowledge of civil road works and drainage, and cultural and community values will be key to your success in this role. You'll be adept at providing high-level advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and supporting project development and delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policies, and environmental objectives.
To be successful in the role, you will have a proven track record in contributing to best practices in monitoring projects, including:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in project management.
- Experience in developing and delivering projects, including developing project plans,
- monitoring project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration.
- A positive attitude and a desire to work effectively in a team environment with a collaborative approach.
- Capacity to manage multiple complex project tasks to meet key project milestones.
Essential requirements
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in project management.
- Experience in developing and delivering projects, including developing project plans, monitoring project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration.
