Project Officer - Civil

We are currently looking for Project Officer – Civil on a full-time temporary basis working. The candidate rate is negotiable. We are looking for someone to start immediately and commit to up to 3 months.
Location: Rockingham, WA
Role Purpose:
- Manage the planning and delivery of Civil Infrastructure projects
- Provide internal consultancy both within the team and for other City departments for civil related projects
- Manage projects and contracts from procurement to completion stages
- Supervise the delivery of project works relative to Civil Infrastructure as identified through the various City plans (i.e. Business Plan, Community Infrastructure Plan, Asset Management Plan)
- Lead multiple disciplinary teams from various departments and external consultants
- Review consultant specifications, drawings, contract documentation and communicate amendments
- Ensure compliance with City policies, procedures, and local government tender regulations
- Develop tender and contract documentation to ensure compliance with City policies, procedures, and local government tender regulations
- Create, review, monitor and implement stakeholder communication plans and strategies
- Monitor and report on project performance to the Construction Engineer
- Assist in the review and update of formal processes and procedures relating to landscape projects
- Provide advice on matters of complexity within the work area and/or discipline
Requirements of the Job:
- Previous experience in local government (desirable)
- Extensive construction, engineering or trade experience and technical expertise specific to infrastructure projects, with the ability to problem solve and provide well-thought of solution.
- Ability to understand relevant Acts, Regulations, local laws, policies and relevant codes.
- Understand the major components of civil design practices
- Demonstrated experience in managing and administering construction projects and contractors
- Experience with financial management of multi-disciplinary projects covering budgeting, cost control and reporting requirements
- Experience in the production of high-quality tender documents such as project scopes, specifications, contracts and estimates
- Strong written and interpersonal skills, particularly verbal communication
