Project OfficerCommunity Engagement 
Permanent part-time (15 hours per week) 
Salary: $69,626 - $83,905 per annum (pro rata) + 11% super

The City of Fremantle’s Community Engagement team is focused on reshaping and elevating civic participation with people who live, work, or play in Fremantle. The Project OfficerCommunity Engagement role is a unique opportunity to be part of a highly dynamic, visible, and creative team that collaborates on a wide range of projects or topics on a daily basis as well as a direct link to the community.

In this position you will develop, implement, and evaluate engagement activities to assist in the effective delivery of public engagement programs. You will provide technical advice to staff across all levels of the organisation in relation to Community Engagement activities and support key projects. 

This exciting position will work within the City’s Economy & Commercial team and is best suited to an enthusiastic and experienced professional, with an understanding of engagement principles, techniques, and practices, including the IAP2 framework, and an exceptional ability to develop and sustain effective relationships with stakeholders. 

Key responsibilities include:
  • Support the delivery of engagement activities for key projects in line with the City’s Community Engagement Policy to support the achievement of the City’s strategic direction. 
  • Provide support and advice to staff in the development, design, and delivery of engagement plans and activities.
  • Assist with the implementation of approved engagement plans, including managing stakeholder lists and developing collateral.
