Then look no further, we have the job for you, we have an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer to join the Student Success and Wellbeing team here at Tafe SA! We are looking for someone who can take the project to new heights, use innovation, collaboration and expertise to drive this project to success.

The Project Officer will provide high level support, represent the interests of, and drive initiatives for the Director Student Experience and the Student Experience Directorate at large. The role will take a lead role in engaging with leaders and staff across TAFE SA to deliver operational and strategic goals aligned to student Equity and Inclusion.

Through the provision of high-quality briefings, project management skills, and expert advice (developed through an intimate knowledge of the operations), the Project Officer will support strategic outcomes, and work under broad direction to support, plan, coordinate and deliver advice/projects related to the activities of the Student Experience Directorate.

Key Selection Criteria: To apply and succeed in the role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience developing, managing, and delivering on multiple initiatives/projects, working in a complex environment, responding flexibly to changing priorities and moving from detail to larger, strategic issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to deploy professional integrity and tact in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
  • If you hold a qualification and/or equivalent experience in Business, Public Administration, Communications, or Project management that would be considered highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in programs or projects relating to Equity and Inclusion.
  • High-level problem solving and strategic skills, including an ability to involve oneself and others in processes to achieve a shared goal.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to develop effective networks, provide sound, well-formulated written and verbal advice, reports and briefings to senior management and communicate and negotiate with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels.
  • High level skills in the provision of data and information and the ability to analyse, evaluate and provide recommendations to senior level managers.
  • If you have project management experience working within in an educational context, this would be highly desirable.

Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).

  • Out of hours work will be required.
  • Intrastate and interstate travel may be required. Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Development Program.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
  • It is an ongoing condition of employment for all employees whose employment is subject to a Health Direction/site requirement, including but not limited to an Emergency Health Direction, that they are fully compliant with the requirements of the relevant Directions in order to perform their duties. This will also include but not be limited to: COVID 19
