About us
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the role
The Project Officer is responsible for providing project and administrative support on a wide range of key Koori Family Violence initiatives and projects such as:
The implementation of MCV's Koori Family Violence Strategy.
KFVU's Deadly Discussions video resources.
Ongoing integration of Umalek Balit as a component of the Specialist Family Violence Courts.
This includes developing and maintaining project administration systems, preparing complex project documentation, building effective relationships with stakeholders, organising project meetings and assisting in risk and issue management.
About you
Demonstrated experience in the principles and processes of project management, project lifecycle stages and project management methodologies and software.
Knowledgeable and passionate about making positive change on the issues impacting Victorian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
A demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to champion change and work within a culturally safe framework.
Understanding of the impact of Family Violence on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community would be highly regarded.
