Your New Opportunity:
This newly created Project Officer position will assist with the development and delivery of targeted projects and activities across our Soil, Reuse & Recycling business arm.
This role will see you supporting project administration activities including licensing and planning, budget and cost control, contractor and consultant engagement whilst managing deadlines and adhering to WHS practices.
You will have key responsibility in:
- Assisting the Strategy Delivery Manager with coordination and delivery of assigned projects, including providing specialised advice related to project/product development and delivery
- Maintaining project plans and provide updates on progress tracking to ensure their success
- Working with internal stakeholders to ensure project milestones are evaluated, implemented, and monitored closely
- Providing project support as required to the Strategy Delivery Manager including: updating databases, managing content in project management software, collating reports, preparing briefing notes, undertaking research, and organising and facilitating teleconferences and face to face meetings
- Reviewing specialist consultant reports for approvals and provide summary of review to Strategy Delivery Manager
- Supporting budget and cost control management
- Contractor and consultant management
- Ensuring appropriate collection and review of JSEA’s and other health and safety documentation for site visits/ site works.
About you:
- Practical experience supporting the project coordination of plant development / expansions / operations
- Understanding and experience with planning of EPA Approvals
- Previous experience in waste management and/or Quarry Industry or similar
- Experience in coordinating contracts including ability to directly supervise contractors and to achieve high performance
- Experience with reviewing planning and environmental specialist studies and coordinating consultants to complete studies
- Knowledge of environmental and planning legislation in Australia
- Experience with health and safety, and environmental management systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and negotiation skills
- Intermediate level computer (MS Office) skills
- Experience with formal project management systems preferable
