The Mackay Hospital Expansion Project at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Project Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity
- To support the Project Lead and wider MHHS Project Team (Principal Project Manager (ICT) and Chief Finance Officer) with all aspects of project planning and delivery for the MHEP over the next four years.
- To interface and collaborate with the MHEP Project Director (HCD), Project Manager (CBRE) and wider team of external consultants (most notably Conrad Gargett Architects and JHA Engineers).
- To facilitate engagement with key clinical and non-clinical stakeholders as part of the MHEP.
- To assist with the change management associated with the physical and operational changes that MBH will experience.
- To support the planning and delivery of other concurrent MHHS priority healthcare infrastructure projects.
In July 2022, the Queensland Government announced a $250million funding commitment to carry out the Mackay Hospital Expansion Project (MHEP). This vital infrastructure project, which is being expedited as part of the Statewide Capital Expansion Program (CEP), will deliver an additional 128 inpatient beds for the Mackay Base Hospital (MBH). The core objectives/benefits of the MHEP are:
- Equitable local access to health services by the community for acute, sub-acute, women's, children's, and neonatal services.
- Improved clinical workflows and new models of care which are better aligned with the changing needs of the community.
- Enhanced patient flow, safety, and outcomes through enhanced functional adjacencies and contemporary infrastructure.
