Primary objective
Undertake a range of coordination and project related functions to support, streamline and enhance the client focussed generalist and specialised Human
Resource Management service improvements to the Northern Territory Public Sector (NTPS) including project management, and the development and
delivery of plans to continually improve the working environment.
Context statement
Workforce Services are delivered to client agencies under a centralised services model across a geographically and culturally diverse environment.
The Workforce Operations and Partnerships team provides Human Resource (HR) Business Partner, recruitment and strategic recruitment services,
general HR support and business improvement initiatives to client agencies through closely aligned work units. This role forms part of the project
management unit, responsible for ensuring smooth operations and project management, identifying areas for continuous improvement.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Work proactively and collaboratively with client agencies to assist with the identification of workforce service delivery gaps and the development of
solutions to address these.
2. Provide advice and project management support for a range of supported systems, business information systems and policy matters.
3. Assist with the development of supporting project documentation including project initiation documents, implementation plans, and relevant reports,
adhering to project governamnce structures.
4. Liaise with internal or external service providers to ensure the development and management of quality systems, projects or interfaces.
5. Assist with the development of change management strategies and engagement of client agencies and stakeholders through established
communications channels.
6. Undertake research and analysis of HR data to provide high quality, effective and timely workforce relations responses and advice, and contribute to
the development, implementation and review of workforce relations practices.
7. Work with subject matter experts in client agencies and NTPS employment and industrial relations legislation, policies and best practice to ensure
compliance with employment legislation, agency policies and delegations.
8. Build and maintain key relationships and work closely with team members to exchange information, resolve issues, provide support and training to
foster a collaborative, effective environment.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Experience providing project support with the ability to research and analyse information for preparing a range of high level correspondence and
project documentation.
2. Demonstrated experience and a working knowledge of HR management principles and practice.
3. Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to effectively plan, prioritise and deliver agreed priorities and projects within tight
time constraints and meet deadlines.
4. High level oral and written communication skills including the ability to establish collaborative relationships at all levels with stakeholders to positively
influence change.
5. Demonstrated high level strategic, conceptual and analytical skills including the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies and
procedures.
6. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, innovative and respectful.
Desirable
1. Working knowledge of the Public Sector Employment and Management Act , the NTPS recruitment and selection processes or similar and HR
Management systems.
2. Relevant tertiary qualifications in an appropriate field such as project management, human resources or a related field.
