Job DescriptionAbout the Role
As Project Quality Manager, you will implement, administer, and maintain the company’s quality management system in accordance with Company procedures and the requirements of ISO9001.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Create, control, maintain and review all internal quality documentation including; ITP’s, FIC’s, Welding (PQR’s WPS’s, WPQRs, Consumables), NDT, Mech Testing, Hydrostatic Testing, Calibration Certificates, Coating documentation, Flange/Thread mapping & Traceability, as-built drawings (RLMU’s), Cathodic Protection, etc.
- Monitor all quality related activities on project works.
- Perform or oversee all internal and external audits.
- Oversee all welding activities & Inspections on site as carried out on pipelines & SMP works to current Australian & International Standards, Project & Client specifications & ensure compliance.
- Co-ordinate QA/QC activities on-site. Oversee & direct other QA/QC Welding, Mechanical & Coating Inspectors on their daily tasks / inspections and responsibilities. Review all submitted documentation.
- Complete on-site welding and coating inspections and update project MDR documentation with supervisor.
- Verify contractor and subcontractor quality requirements are met and communicated.
- Ensure the preparation and control of Project Quality management documentation is in place prior to projects commencing.
- Ensure operations and project works are performed within the latest standards and regulations when it comes to quality assurance & quality control.
- Support the Project Management team in dealing with the Client for all Quality matters.
- Supervise and ensure equipment calibration is adequately maintained.
- Conduct formal/informal site visits, inspections, and audits.
- Report, communicate and investigate Project Quality non-conformance issues/incidents.
- Identify and communicate possible project execution improvements to ensure that GEC achieves the highest level of functional capacity.
- Manage and maintain project & quality documentation, data and records.
- Actively participate in daily pre-starts and other meetings to share information and report key performance data on respective sites/work areas.
- Record, communicate and facilitate project lessons learned reviews.
- Management of assigned subcontractors.
- Compile & oversee compilation of MDR’s by Quality & Engineering personnel for all types of construction works; Buried Steel Pipelines/Flowlines, EUE Pipelines, SMP Works, Gas Lease (Mechanical & Electrical), Oil Lease Beam Pumps, ESPs (Mechanical & Electrical) & various other facility & SMP works. Ensure compliance with client requirements and deadlines.
Please note that this role will not only be office based but it is also expected that you will work out in the field daily.
Desired Skills and ExperienceTo be successful in this role you must hold the following traits, skills, and qualifications:
- Tertiary or Trade qualified or equivalent experience
- Welding Supervision Qualification: (AS 1796 Certificate 10 or IIW IWS/IWT/IWE)
- Welding Inspection Qualification: CSWIP 3.1 or IIW IWI-B as a minimum
- Coating Inspection Qualification: NACE Level 2
- Must have eligible Australian working rights
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in quality control/quality assurance within the construction industry.
- Experienced within Oil & Gas industry.
- Experienced with MDR compilation & review.
- Knowledge of construction processes.
- Understanding of QA & QC systems and procedures.
- In depth Knowledge of relevant Industry Codes & Standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project etc.
- Experience in managing ISO accreditation.
- Effective time management and organisational skills.
- Competent in communicating quality requirements to Inspectors & field staff.
- Can multitask, work under pressure, and set priorities effectively.
- Be flexible and adaptive to change.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of health and safety systems.
- Ability to plan and schedule effectively.
