Project Senior Geologist  
8/6 Roster 
Perth Based with regular site travel will be required in this role to supervise field operations.

The Senior Geologist plays a key role within the Lithium Resources team and is responsible for developing and managing drilling programs for generative exploration.

Being an exploration-focused role, responsibilities include the safe and effective execution of exploration activities, timely communication on the drilling plan and schedule to management and the community engagement team, and implementation of best practice regarding data management and analytical geoscience.

This position will require independent strategic and critical thinking, collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, and possess exceptional geologic observation skills.

• Exploration of lithium and other minerals at the Company's projects and other relevant locations, as required.
• Ownership of field activities for field exploration, drilling operations, drill core and Reverse Circulation chip logging, and geologic mapping.
• Planning, executing and evaluating soil, stream and laterite sampling programmes.
• Supervision and logging of Reverse Circulation and diamond drilling and ensuring that high HSE standards are achieved.
• Ensuring adherence to Albemarle’s safety culture and Core Values, including being a courageous safety leader, leading by example and fostering a proactive and collaborative safety culture. Ensuring safe field operations and, always, holding the safety of employees, contractors, and consultants as our highest priority.
• Exploration, planning, development and implementation of safety management plans.
• Capable of being appointed as statutory supervisor under Schedule 26 of the WHS (Mines) Regulations (WA) 2022 and discharging associated duties.
• Regional and prospect scale geological mapping.
• Compiling and interpreting spatial datasets in GIS and 3D programs.
• Assisting with traditional owner liaison or management of Aboriginal heritage issues.
• Assisting with landowner or community liaisons.
• Conducting soil, rock and soil sampling when required.
• Assisting with tenement management activities.
• Supervision of contractors at the projects and other relevant locations, as required.
• Attending to statutory responsibilities as assigned by the Manager.
• Such other duties as may be assigned by the Manager from time to time.

About You

• At least 8 years’ experience in mining or exploration for metals/non-metals. Lithium exploration or resource development activities are preferred, notably for spodumene pegmatite deposits.
• Experience using Leapfrog or an equivalent 3D mining software, and an industry standard GIS platform (QGIS, ArcGIS etc.) is required.
• Experience leading teams and managing contractors in the field.

Education / Qualification Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering.
• Graduate Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering would be beneficial but not essential.
