The Role and our Branch

The Schools branch is seeking a highly motivated individual to appoint to the Project Support Officer position.

If successful you will assist with the development, implementation and management of systems, governance framework, methodologies and tools related to the Program. It will be your responsibility to support the Principal Consultant and Senior Responsible Officer by regularly monitoring, evaluating and reporting on key program metrics against agreed baseline. You will also be a key part of the governance of the Program as you will provide executive and secretariat support to the Board and relevant committees.

This role will require the successful applicant to provide professional advice and support on a range of matters related to the Kaartdijin Program Management Office (KPMO) system, framework, methodology and tools. The Project Support Officer will develop and deliver presentations to relevant stakeholders as required. In addition, the Project Support Officer will maintain effective records and information databases in accordance with the Department’s record keeping policy.

Eligibility and Training Requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
