Working in a commercial environment, the role of Environmental Officer with the Soil Conservation Service (SCS) is responsible for supporting the on-site delivery of environmental and earthworks projects for clients, with a focus on erosion control, soil and water management, site remediation, fire trail/track construction and creek restoration.
To Do This You Will:
- Work with project and construction staff and managers responsible for the delivery of environmental construction projects, with emphasis on the administrative aspects of project delivery.
- The on-site supervision for junior field staff and contractors.
- Assist senior staff to investigate, develop and scope solutions for natural resource management issues.
- Complete project tracking spreadsheets, maintain records and the sites project management documentation.
- Assist with the preparation of procurement documentation to arrange materials and contractors.
- Support project quality and safety systems,
- Assisting to maintain budgets and project resources.
- Professionally represent and promote the SCS to help develop effective partnerships with internal staff and contractors.
- Work as a colleague with teams and areas to resource projects with a whole of area team approach.

About You:To be successful you’ll need to be someone who can work with a team to deliver environmental projects with the responsibility for supporting the administrative side of a project. Our ideal candidate will also possess the following:
- Computer literacy and great communication skills.
- Experience and/or knowledge in plant operations and costing projects is also desirable – but what’s more important is your ability to support the team with your project delivery administrative capabilities.
- The ability to work with the team to deliver projects on time, within scope and on budget.
- While safety needs to remain your number one priority, our focus is high-quality project delivery, and demonstrated experience in delivering efficiencies whilst maintaining standards will be highly regarded.
- A current NSW driver licence combined with the willingness and ability to travel is required.
