About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Projects and Maintenance Coordinator position is part of a team which delivers planned maintenance works in accordance with weekly schedules, utilising all available labour resources whilst efficiently addressing all plant and equipment operational delays.
This position together participates in daily maintenance functions including fault identification and rectification, improving asset reliability, and implementing and managing engineering projects using specialist electrical knowledge.
At a high level, this role will:
- Contribute to the daily maintenance processes via job starts / completions, assistance where required in the implementation of weekly preventive schedules, Maintenance Coordinator leave relief and out of hours on-call roster support
- Lead / assist in delivering plant and equipment KPI’s by the effective execution (planning and scheduling) of given reliability improvements / engineering projects
- Provide ‘high level’ electrical technical and practical assistance in the form of breakdown fault diagnosis, correction, and preventive mitigation against failure
- Facilitate and document follow-up works, monitor and act on any trends visible from breakdown chits / history to eliminate, reduce or identify root causes to breakdowns
- Development of capital expenditure requests, Engineering Design Change submissions, failure mode investigations and Planned Maintenance (PM) Optimisation
- Assist in the provision of information to measure labour resource group performance by means of compliance to work completed
- Ensure that the Maintenance Management Team are fully informed of issues within your control that are relevant to the work of other members of the Maintenance Management Team
- Provide full comprehensive feedback to the Maintenance Management Team on faults identified from investigations that impact terminal operations
About Your Experience and Skills
To be considered for this opportunity you must be an ‘A’ Grade Electrician (and possibly have additional Electronics / Electrical engineering qualifications) with the following skills and experience:
- Leadership of effective maintenance work groups in a team environment
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated / practical experience in the implementing and Maintenance of Siemens and Omron automation control systems, S7 PLC’s and AC / DC drives
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent fault-finding skills in a production, heavy industry environment
- Experience with Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) – Maximo
- Analytical / problem solving and planning skills in a heavy engineering and unionized industry
- Excellent reporting and record keeping skills
