Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for overseeing the entire property operation and commercial interests.
- Management of team members including recruitment, supervision, and training
- To promote a positive environment through participative leadership and develop
- Prepare the property business plan in line with the overall YHA strategic plan.
- Overall financial management of the entire business operations. This will include the preparation of budgets, key performance indicators, financial reporting and capital expenditure to ensure effective cost control and profitability. Drive the revenue management of the property working closely with key stakeholders.
- Actively manage revenue management decisions including group, corporate and inbound rates.
- Achieve continued revenue growth through innovation in services, product offerings and sales and marketing initiatives. A full 12-month business plan to be submitted every year. Working with sales team member/s to develop and deliver the sales and marketing strategy.
- Provide effective leadership, management, training, motivation and development of all team members in your reporting line.
- Previous property management experience of at least 2 years in a similar size property
- The ability to communicate at all levels both verbally and written
- Understanding of the travel and tourism industry
- Demonstrated leadership and change management skills of a team within a service industry.
- Previous experience in food and beverage operations
- Relevant tertiary qualifications ideal but not essential;
- A passion for the backpacking industry and customer service!
