About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager Development Services, you will be responsible for the management of a substantial property portfolio for the Council, handling tenant relations, negotiation of leasing agreements, and rent reviews. You will play a key role in planning and delivering services to council tenants, managing partnership agreements, and coordinating tenancy agreements with internal departments for community asset use.
Additionally, with your professional acumen, you will maintain council's lease register. You will build and foster positive relationships with all stakeholders including community leaders and elected members, whilst providing specialised leasing advice and navigating the political landscape of property management.
You will be required to implement and manage leasing and licensing requirements within appropriate legislation and timeframes whilst also providing internal advice within the area of operation. You will further be responsible for reporting to Council, as well as maintaining records, registers and databases to ensure legislative and operational compliance, whilst delivering a timely service to clients.
The right person will have skills and experience in the following:
- A qualification in Property, Business Administration or Law and/or experience in community relations or public administration
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practice property and leasing management
- Initiating, facilitating and coordinating leasing and other property related and legal agreements
- Understanding of relevant legislation, guidelines and standards in this area
- Handling politically sensitive issues
- Demonstrating diplomacy and tact in interactions with community and political stakeholders
- Working with cross-functional teams
- Unencumbered Australian drivers licence
- Microsoft Office and corporate digital applications
