Position Overview:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in promoting independence and well-being among the residents. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will assess individual needs, develop personalised treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to maximize functional abilities and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities💼
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify residents' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs and develop tailored care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to improve mobility, self-care skills, and environmental adaptations, promoting safety and independence in daily activities.
- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions, incorporating innovative approaches and adaptive equipment to support residents' participation and engagement.
- Educate residents, families, and staff on strategies to enhance independence, prevent falls, and optimize functional outcomes.
- Collaborate with allied health professionals, caregivers, and external stakeholders to coordinate care and facilitate smooth transitions for residents.
Requirements📝
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Demonstrated experience working as an Occupational Therapist in Aged Care or a related setting, with a strong understanding of geriatric rehabilitation principles and practices.
- Excellent clinical assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to develop creative and individualized treatment plans.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and client-centered approach to care.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
