The Salvation Army Housing offers a mix of crisis, transitional and long-term housing accommodation to persons who are homeless or at risk of homelessness across the state. The team works with the most vulnerable in our communities, who come with complex and multiple needs.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Salvos Housing team currently have a permanent full-time opportunity for a Property Services Assistant to join their Barton office.
Reporting to the Regional Manager Housing NSW/ACT, the successful candidate will provide tenancy and property management to a dedicated portfolio of properties and work with tenants to address tenancy and property related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that tenancies in the portfolio are managed and maintained, leases are up to date, properties are inspected and reviewed, and rent reviews managed.
- Keeping tenant records accurate and up to date in CHINTARO software.
- Arranging maintenance in line with Salvos Housing policy and procedures including obtaining quotes when necessary and in line with budget.
- Addressing high risk situations involving tenants within required time frames, as per TSA and Salvos Housing policy and procedure.
- Maintaining a register of approved licensed contractors and choosing contractors from this register, unless an emergency dictates otherwise.
ABOUT YOU
The role will ideally suit someone with property management background and who is passionate about delivering a quality client-focused service. We are not only seeking someone who naturally aligns with our culture but is also connected to contributing to improved outcomes for our clients. You will need to demonstrate that you have the capacity to engage with a wide cross section of individuals and an ability to prioritise workloads.
- Tertiary qualifications in Community Services or Equivalent
- Current Real Estate Qualifications or demonstrated experience of working in the real estate/community housing sector
- Sound knowledge of community and social housing and community welfare sector will be highly regarded
- Experience with general Community Housing issues, policies and procedures
