Introduction:

We are currently seeking an experienced Engineer to join us as a Proposal Engineer, Pumps in our Perth office, Western Australia, supporting the sales of Pumps, Valves, Slurry Hoses and Cyclones.

 The Opportunity:

This position will report to global Pumps Business Line (BL) and work in the Asia Pacific Market Area (MA), supporting the Pump Sales.

 What You Will Do:

 Assist sales by providing technical and application support for pumps, valves, slurry hoses and hydrocyclones.

• Make quotations for pumps, valves, slurry hoses and hydrocyclones and spare parts (Project).
• Calculate costs and prices for pumps, valves, slurry hoses and hydrocyclones.
• Makes pump and hydrocyclone sizing calculations
• Provide Technical Support to external customers, agents, distributors and EPC
• Provide Technical Support to Minerals Process Equipment (MPS) Mining Systems (MS) with pump solution knowledge in bigger projects
• Support Order Management department in kick off meeting for project execution
• Supports claim handling on pumps and spare parts by helping to provide information from pumps previous order, IOM, etc
• Follow up on assigned quotations with Sales to ensure that the quotation provided is in accordance what Sales required
• Requires occasional travel, both domestic and international to provide applications and technical solutions to client 

 Who You Are:

 Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree or business or equivalent training/experience, need to have a technical background. Knowledge of gear boxes, ancillary equipment and or pumps highly regarded

• Basic knowledge in pumps is desirable. Relevant pump knowledge means achieved through academic studies or practical experience of centrifugal pumps.
• A genuine willingness to learn and gain knowledge in this field of expertise
• General knowledge within the area of minerals and mineral processing is beneficial.
• Service oriented person with great drive and commitment, and a sense of detail and order
• Interest in technology, problem solving attitude
• Team player, capability to prioritize and manage different workloads
• Experience in quotation work is an asset
• Solid verbal and written communication skills in English are required. Additional language skills are beneficial but not essential
• Good computer skills in Microsoft Office, SAP and general adaptability to new software is a requirement
• Experience in a customer service role or support function role is a plus
