The role
At Haileybury, we prioritise the holistic development of our students, recognising the crucial role that mental health plays in their overall wellbeing. As a Psychologist at Haileybury City Campus, you will play a pivotal role in addressing the psychological needs of our students. This is a Part Time Position required to be on campus during term time, starting from term 2.
Responsibilities
- Working collaboratively as a member of the team of psychologists at Haileybury to implement a whole school approach to student wellbeing that builds resilience and connectedness and identifies opportunities for proactive and preventative programs
- Providing and maintaining student wellbeing service delivery including counselling, psychoeducational assessment (if requested by the Head of Campus) and assisting with staff professional development relating to student wellbeing where applicable
- Conducting individual case management using a systems approach and referring on to outside providers as necessary
- Attending parent/teacher meetings and Pastoral Care meetings as required
- Facilitating programs accessible to the broader school community
- Working collaboratively in the assessment of students and submissions for funding and special provisions
- Working with parents, teachers and external professionals to implement learning recommendations.
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders using excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- Strong commitment to providing safe, high-quality care using a client-centred approach
- Strong computer skills with sound knowledge of Microsoft applications and the ability to interpret data and write reports
- Strong commitment to confidentiality and maintaining privacy of all students intact
- Ability to manage pastoral issues through effective dialogue and process.
Desirable
- Experience of working with children from a culturally and/or linguistically diverse background
- Previous experience working at a school.
Academic qualifications
- Accredited Master’s Degree in Psychology
- Psychologist registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency).
