Mullum Road Clinic Panton Hill has a position coming up (in the next few months) to work at the therapy farm location.
We are seeking a psychologist with an interest in working as a psychologist at the Therapy Farm in the context of Animal / Equine Assisted Therapy. Mullum Road Clinic generally works with Neuro Divergent (ND) individuals (identifying as Autistic and/or having ADHD) an and the LGBTQIA+ community. An interest in working through a Trauma informed lens would be an advantage.

ABOUT MULLUM ROAD
Mullum Road first began at our Ringwood location in 2009. We have since expanded to locations in Croydon, Warrandyte and Eltham, providing therapy for adults, adolescents, children, families, and couples, with a particular focus on Autism, ADHD, gender/sexual diversity and Animal Assisted Therapy. We work predominantly with neurodivergent individuals using a neuro-affirming approach.
We provide a supportive and friendly team environment to enable you to make effective changes for your clients. We are seeking a psychologist to join our friendly and enthusiastic team at the farm location in Panton Hill.
Our clinics lend themselves to incorporating “walk and talk”, nature- and bush-based therapy and Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) into your work. Naturally room-based work is also involved, however we encourage creative and experiential approaches to therapy .
We are looking for a dynamic psychologist with strong interpersonal skills to work with adults, adolescents and children. Experience working with children of all ages, adults and adolescents will be highly regarded, however prior private practice experience is not necessary. An interest in working with the LGBTQIA+ community is also highly regarded.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
Psychologist (ongoing contractor position). 1 day per week at the farm. if more days are desired, other days (if available) can be clinic based.

- Assessment Training is offered on a fortnight basis.
- Opportunity to incorporate animals such as chickens, rabbits, alpacas, donkeys, cats and guinea pigs into therapy sessions.
- The option to bring a trained therapy dog into sessions on the farm.
- A range of horses to join therapy work.
ABOUT THE SUCCESSFUL PSYCHOLOGIST
- Demonstrate a compassionate and enthusiastic approach and have a genuine desire to improve client's emotional well-being
- Value building strong therapeutic relationships with clients and value developing relationships with referrers and other allied health clinics.
- Hold registration with AHPRA, professional indemnity insurance, Working with Children Check, and ability to register with Medicare
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Interest in Autism, ADHD, Gender diversity and working with Neuro Divergent (ND) individuals.
- Experience and knowledge of horses.
- Have completed the Equine Assisted Psychotherapy course or be interested in completing this course.
- Experience in Animal Assisted Therapy
- Experience or strong interest in working with children/adolescents/adults.
