About the Role
- Apply specialised knowledge, skills and independent judgement in the assessment of consumers with complex mental health needs and their families/carers admitted to TPCH in accordance with the Australian Psychological Society Code of Ethics. This includes the provision of bio-psychosocial, risk assessments, and psychological screening and assessments (including the use of specialised psychological measures such as self-report rating scales, personality inventories, intellectual, and cognitive assessment) to assist with diagnosis, formulation, and treatment.
- Apply independent, advanced-level professional judgement and advanced-level problem solving skills to problems of a complex and critical caseload, with minimal direct clinical practice supervision.
- Facilitate linkages and continuity of care between MNMH-TPCH, and other primary care and health services and advanced-level advocacy for consumers whose physical health care is complicated by their mental health problems to address consumer need and ensure equity in access to services.
- Provide definitive clinical advice and professional advocacy to senior management with respect to issues affecting clinical service delivery and the delivery of psychology services within the health service
