RCH Mental Health comprises community and hospital based services. CASEA (CAMHS in Schools Early Action) sits under the community arm of the program. The aim of CASEA is to reduce the prevalence of conduct disorder in children by delivering sustainable evidence-based interventions in the early years of school within the school setting.You will be responsible for providing individual and group tertiary Mental Health care for children up to 15 years and their families through assessment, treatment, case management and consultation to internal and external stakeholders.As a Mental Health Clinician you will demonstrate expert clinical capabilities with this population with a recovery-focus, and contribute to service initiatives, education, review/evaluation and quality improvement projects. Your research knowledge and skills will enhance team functions and improve outcomes for consumers.Clinicians are required to work in schools in the Western Metropolitan RCH Mental Health catchment area, from the team base (located at Travancore) and other locations within the service as required. Schools involved will be from Western or Northern Education regions.As part of recommendations from the Victorian Royal Commission into Mental Health we are currently undergoing an exciting service transformation, building our workforce and enhancing our therapeutic programs.To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in working in a Mental Health setting and managing a complex caseload
- Demonstrated clinical skills and experience in the provision of effective and efficient child and adolescent Mental Health care.
- Demonstrated ability to work with children with behavioural and/or emotional difficulties, carers and families.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, to maximise service coordination and cooperation as well as capacity building with community agencies.
- A commitment and evidence of evidence-based practice and continuing professional development including and ability to find and apply evidence in decision-making.
- Demonstrate awareness and understanding of legal obligations when working in a CAMHS context in Victoria.

- Completion of an APAC-approved postgraduate degree in Psychology - minimum Masters Level qualification in either Clinical or Educational/Developmental Psychology
- Current Registration with AHPRA - this means full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and clinical or Educational and developmental endorsement, or eligibility to enrol in the Registrar program and willingness to work towards this endorsement.
