About the Opportunity:
SWSLHD is seeking a dedicated, driven and supportive Psychologist to join the Drug Health Youth Services team.

You will be a skilled problem solver who has strong analytical skills. What You'll be Doing:
Delivering evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions in order to address the needs of consumers who are living with a wide range of behavioural and emotional disorders.
Where You'll Be Working:
The Drug Health Youth Services team provides support and education for young people aged 12 to 25, as well as their caregivers in dealing with complex drug and alcohol related challenges.
The team consists of social workers, clinical nurse consultants (CNC), psychologists and Aboriginal health workers who collaborate closely with the Aboriginal health team to provide a holistic and culturally sensitive approach that underscores their commitment to inclusivity.
Through group sessions tailored to teenagers dealing with alcohol and substance dependencies, the team provides a safe platform for open dialogue and assists in the development of strategies to empower these young people and their carers in their journey towards recovery.
The team works closely with parents and caregivers to help them navigate the complexities of addiction and assist the consumers by partnering with NGOs and collaborating with external stakeholders like Street University, youth centers, Youth Services and Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).
The team holds a clinical caseload, directly partnering with patients in their journey to recovery and offer support by guiding youth and their families through their addictions.
How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.
- Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. Completion of a four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in the discipline of psychology (or equivalent completed overseas).
- Demonstrated effective experience in assessment, intervention and evaluation of clinical outcomes with diverse patient and/or consumer populations.
- Demonstrated experience working independently in the provision of patient/consumer-focused care.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the quality improvement process for service development, implementation and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
- Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
