Senior Clinical Psychologist/Senior Psychologist
Located in the Wollongong CBD in close proximity to Wollongong train station, South Coast Private is a 90 bed, non-acute, Mental Health facility offering a range of inpatient and day patient health services.

The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Psychologist to join the leadership team at South Coast Private.
You will support the Allied Health Manager in leading a team of clinicians, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where excellence thrives.
You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless delivery of hospital programs, which incorporates inpatient admissions and outpatient services.
You will have the ability to step in to deliver a range of CBT, DBT and ACT based group programs when needed.
The role comes with an option of complementing hospital work with one day/week in the hospital's private practice which includes a generous fee split, allowing you to maintain an individual clinical caseload.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Allied Health Manager to coordinate patient programs.
- Provide resources and training to staff, including the provision of clinical supervision.
- Assist the Allied Health Manager in developing new programs and quality improvement review.
- Facilitate manualised CBT, DBT and ACT based group programs as required.
- Provide individual assessment and therapy for a range of mental health conditions.
- Deliver trauma focused treatment to first responders.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team including the hospital's Executive Leadership team and 24 Psychiatrists.
- Participate in quality improvement activities as required.
- Maintain accurate records.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 5 years full registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist or hold an endorsement in Clinical Psychology.
- AHPRA approved supervisor.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
- Demonstrated experience delivering mental health group and individual therapy.
- Demonstrated experience in working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A commitment to quality improvement and strong focus on patient care.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in delivering EMDR/Trauma-Focused CBT
