The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Psychologist – Senior (Community Paediatrics) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide comprehensive/flexible clinical psychology services to young children and their parents/carers involving advanced levels of assessment
- Provide high levels psychological assessments (Intellectual, Adaptive, Attention, Learning, Behaviour, Anxiety, Mood, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder)
- Apply advanced level professional judgement to complex cases, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence
- Provide leadership and mentoring, including clinical practice supervision to other psychologists and psychologists in training
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A tertiary degree in Psychology (or equivalent)
- AHPRA Registration
- Driver Licence
- Whilst not mandatory, possession of post-graduate qualifications (e.g., Master's Degree, DPsych, PhD) from a relevant accredited psychology training programme, Psychology Board of Australia endorsement or membership or eligibility for membership of the Australian Psychological Society would be well regarded
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be completed

- Base salary ranging from $58.02 - $62.43 per hour
The Child Development Service is a community-based, multidisciplinary health service involved in the assessment and management of children aged 0 up to 10 years, referred with concerns of development including communication, movement, emotions, behaviour, learning and socialisation. It follows a multidisciplinary, family centred approach in supporting children with developmental delays who attend the service. Based in Southport and Upper Coomera.
