About us

Doing it Different is an independent and well respected sector provider assisting participants living with disability on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to access support coordination and other aligned supports. Doing it Different is an inclusive and experienced provider, and our goal is to uphold individual human rights and provide people with opportunities to achieve their goals and aspirations. We do this by providing quality and ethical support to ensure each person is at the centre of all decision making. Doing it Different provides support to participants across metropolitan Adelaide, Murray Lands and Fleurieu regions.

  • Support Coordination and Psychosocial Recovery Coaches needed
  • Work from home with face to face and virtual support and flexible working arrangements

  • Qualifications and lived experience ideal, minimum one years experience and knowledge essential!

Qualifications & experience

  • Tertiary qualification in human service delivery or relevant field; or
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health peer work or similar training; and/or
  • Reasonable experience in mental health related peer work, or mental health related work
  • Lived experience, or relative work experiences that align with the role
  • Knowledge of psychosocial disability, recovery framework and evidence based practises, including trauma informed practice, supported decision making and family inclusive practice
  • Knowledge of the NDIS and operational guidelines
  • Proven ability to work independently under limited supervision, and have sound written and communication skills. Ability to work independently under limited supervision.
  • Must maintain a valid NDIS worker screening clearance and current police clearance

Tasks & responsibilities

  • The Psychosocial Recovery Coach / Support Coordinator coaches and supports NDIS participants to assist them to build capacity, set goals, and improve their health and well-being by managing the impact of their disability.
  • Utilise recovery oriented practice to provide individualised coaching and coordination of supports, to build capacity, and improve health and wellbeing.
  • The role provides specialist knowledge and support in Psychosocial Recovery, mental health and navigating services and systems.
  • Develop a recovery enabling relationship and work collaboratively with participants, families, and carers to design plan and implement outcomes that focus on the participants goals and strengths.
  • Provide support and information to participants and their supporters to build capacity and progress their goals, and assist in understanding and utilising their NDIS funded supports.
  • Work within the funding levels of each participants plan ensure sufficient billable hours as agreed by the line manager.
  • Ensure participants choice and control through assisting and coaching.
  • Support participants to ensure informed and timely NDIS plan implementation, utilisation and review.
  • Develop trusting, positive and professional relationships with participants, their supporters and service providers.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and written reports.
