The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The Quality and Innovation Unit provides leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of plans, programs, models, and policies for improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Well-being.
The Public Health Unit sits within the Quality and Innovation Unit, ensuring best practice Public Health is planned, implemented and evaluated. It works across the IUIH Network and has a focus on prevention, health protection and health promotion.
About the Role?
Reporting to the IUIH Public Health Manager and working across the IUIH Network, the IUIH Public Health Project Coordinator will:
- Project manage the design, development, implementation and integration of new and refreshed Public Health projects and programs across the IUIH Network
- Support ongoing maintenance, refinement and continuous improvement of Public Health projects and programs of work across the IUIH Network
Day to Day Duties Include:
- Coordinating the development of a project plan
- Oversee the project plan through stages of planning, design, development and implementation, ensuring the project meets agreed milestones and outcomes.
- Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and providers.
- Support development of Public Health awareness, knowledge and skills amongst the IUIH Network primary health care workforce
- Coordinate and/or contribute directly to the delivery of Public Health training, in-services and other education opportunities for primary health care providers, managers and others
About You?
- Current Blue Card
- Public Health Qualification or related field
- Current Criminal History Check
- Current C Class Drivers Licence (Qld)
Desirable, but not mandatory:
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
