We have a newly created role available for a talented, strategic and creative individual to support a global tech business in their advocacy on competition policy in Australia. This is a six-month contract role that will suit an exceptional Public Policy professional with an understanding of campaigning and stakeholder engagement in Australia’s policy environment. Reporting to the Australian Head of Public Policy this position is based in the Sydney CBD with WFH available 2 days per week.
Role Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Australian Public Policy team, you will bring to life their external engagement across a range of competition policy processes, delivering projects focused on stakeholder engagement and events, independent research, and other forms of outreach with key external audiences.
- You will combine the ability to work collaboratively across local and international policy teams and with internal stakeholders across functions, while taking ownership for delivery of projects and events.
- You will also work with external stakeholders to support our client’s advocacy, including agencies, consultants, industry associations and academics.
- 5+ years of relevant Public Policy and advocacy experience, e.g. within corporate Public Policy and government relations, corporate affairs and consulting, industry associations and non-governmental organisations
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Demonstrated ability to engage with key policy audiences, e.g. through events, research projects, and other forms of outreach, on matters related to economic policy in the retail and/or technology sectors
- Demonstrated project management experience and ability to coordinate internal and external resources to deliver successful events
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience creating and effectively building and maintaining relationships with key external stakeholders
