About the role
As a Pulp Mill Production Operator based at our Visy Tumut paper plant, you are responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation and monitoring of plant and equipment within the Pulp Mill including Digester, Fibreline, Re-causticising, Lime kiln, chemical recovery, power /steam system and utilities within a closed-loop, integrated pulp and paper mill.
Duties
Monitor and operate different areas of Pulp Mill using the DCS along with physical in-field inspections.
Identify and analyse process control maintenance requirements, and to automatically generate required work orders through DCS.
Ensure complex systems Continuous improvement plans and programs are feasible and are beneficial to the Mill.
Develop short to medium term plans and solutions to optimise paper production and ensure competitiveness in the market.
What you will bring to the team
Qualification within any of the following areas as a minimum; Pulp Making, Power Plant Operations, or Chemical Recovery and evaporator process control experience.
Solid prior experience in a Pulp Mill, Refinery or similar complex high risk plant environment
Boiler and Turbine ticket is highly advantageous
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can demonstrate your mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot complex production issues under pressure
You have a safety-first mindset and always comply with OHS&E policies and procedures
Your strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure along with your attitude where no job is too small, passion to learn new skills, and ability to lead by example, will fit right into the team.
