The Role
As a Purchasing & Contracts Officer, you will play a crucial role in our procurement team. Your responsibilities will include providing support to a broad range of internal stakeholders, supporting procurement activities, and managing daily purchasing operations.
This role is essential in helping Boggabri Coal achieve its business objectives through efficient and effective procurement practices.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement:
- Support and monitor the implementation of procurement processes and systems across all functions.
- Provide advice and training to staff on the Boggabri Coal Purchasing System and Procurement Guidelines.
- Ensure timely and accurate administration and maintenance of purchasing services.
- Negotiate with suppliers and provide tailored advice to customers.
- Process Purchase Requisitions promptly and expedite outstanding orders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure efficient delivery of goods and services.
- Provide feedback to customers on procurement issues and aim to decrease direct purchases.
- Assist the Contracts and Procurement Superintendent with procurement and contract management.
- Guide and assist in the preparation of acquisition, tender, risk management, negotiation, and contract management documentation.
- Enter, review, and monitor procurement and contract information.
- Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting and conduct analysis for procurement and contract managers.
- A relevant qualification: or substantial relevant skills and work experience in a customer focused or purchasing/contracts/logistics field
- Effective negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in procurement systems and software.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
